I was reading this morning in Psalm 16:11 (NLT):
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
For me, it is Jesus who shows me the way of life. After all, He said in John 14:6 (NLT):
Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
By coming to my Heavenly Father through Jesus, I find the incredible promise of eternal life, the joy of God's presence, and the pleasures that come from living with Jesus. If we get sidetracked and drift away from fellowship with Jesus, we miss the blessing.
Let's look forward to this day and tonight by seeing ourselves in the company of Jesus wherever we go. Now that puts a smile on my face! It is good to practice what they call the presence of the Lord. The more we do it, the more it becomes a regular habit.
Life with Jesus is not complicated. We repent and seek forgiveness from Jesus. Then we make it our aim to follow Jesus and obey His teachings.
I hope you find joy in the presence of Jesus today. Look to Him right now. Do you sense His presence?
