God Watches Over You

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: God Watches Over You.

Have we ever paused to think about what it truly means to be watched over by the Creator of the universe?

Let's listen to God's Word in Psalm 1:6:
"For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin."
— Psalm 1:6  (CSB)

This verse brings a comforting close to the very first Psalm. But before we can fully rest in this promise, we have to ask an honest question: How do we become righteous in the first place?

If we stand on our own record, we know that none of us are righteous. We have all sinned, we have all made mistakes, and we have all fallen short of God’s perfect standard. But thank God that Jesus makes us righteous by faith in Him alone! Through His finished work on the cross, He washed away our sins and clothed us in His perfect righteousness.

Because of Jesus, God sees us and treats us as His cherished sons and daughters—His very own children.

When the Bible says the Lord "watches over" our way, it doesn't mean He is looking down from a distance with a critical eye, waiting for us to slip up. It means He is actively watching our path.

When trials come, the enemy of our souls loves to whisper his lies. He wants us to believe that God has forgotten us, that we are on our own, or that God's boundaries are too restrictive. But we must choose to reject the lies of the enemy.

God's way is always best. When we walk in His ways, we are walking under His ultimate shield of protection. Let's choose to trust His guiding hand and rest in His constant watch over us today.

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
