This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Stir One Another Up.
Hebrews 10:24–25 (BSB):
"And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds. Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
This passage gives a clear command, not a suggestion: believers are to actively consider how to stir one another up to love and good works. The Christian life was never meant to be lived in isolation.
To “consider” means to think intentionally. This is not accidental encouragement—it is deliberate. Ask: how can I help fellow believers grow in holiness, in love, in obedience to Christ?
Then comes the warning: “not neglecting to meet together.” When gathering with the church becomes optional, spiritual decline follows. God has ordained the local church as a means of grace—where the Word is preached, accountability is practiced, and believers are strengthened.
Encouragement is essential because the battle against sin is real and constant. Left alone, the flesh grows stronger. But in faithful fellowship, believers remind one another of truth, confront sin, and point each other back to Christ.
And notice the urgency: “all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Christ is returning. Every day brings us closer. That reality should intensify our commitment—not weaken it.
This is the goodness and wisdom of God: He does not leave His people alone but places them in a body for their growth and perseverance.
So commit yourself to the church. Show up faithfully. Speak truth. Encourage boldly. And stir others toward love and obedience—for the glory of Christ.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
