The Almighty
Revelation 1:8 KJV
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:8 is a powerful verse that emphasizes the sovereignty and eternal nature of God.
The Almighty God who appeared to Abraham is the same Almighty God we read about throughout Scripture.
Genesis 17:1
“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”
And for those of us who have faith in Jesus Christ, we have this wonderful promise:
Psalm 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Think about that. We can dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
And when we come out from among the influence of unbelievers, God gives us this promise:
2 Corinthians 6:18
“And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
The Almighty God desires a relationship with every one of us. He desires that people turn to Him.
2 Peter 3:9 tells us that the Lord is patient, “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
So, if you do not know God, keep in mind that He is calling you to turn to Him and have a relationship with Him.
Trust in Jesus alone to save you, and follow Jesus alone.
