Psalm 55:22 (ESV)
"Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."
There are seasons when we carry more than we were ever meant to bear. Concerns that we carry can quietly settle on our hearts until we feel weary. Yet the Lord does not ask us to carry those burdens alone. Instead, He lovingly invites us to cast them upon Him.
When I choose to place my burdens in God's hands, I am acknowledging that I cannot carry them in my own strength. And when we bring our cares to Him together, we are reminded that our heavenly Father is never overwhelmed by what overwhelms us. Nothing is too heavy for Him.
God's promise is not that every trial will immediately disappear, but that He will sustain us. He provides the grace we need for today, the strength to take the next step, and the peace that steadies our hearts when life feels uncertain. His faithfulness—not our strength—is what keeps us standing.
Today, may we resist the temptation to cling to burdens that belong in God's hands. May I trust Him more fully, and may we rest in the assurance that the One who calls us to cast our burdens upon Him will faithfully sustain us every step of the way.
Let's Pray:
Heavenly Father, we bring our burdens before You today. Forgive us for trying to carry what You have invited us to place in Your hands. Teach us to trust You more deeply and to rest in Your faithful care. Sustain us with Your grace, strengthen us for each new day, and keep our hearts firmly anchored in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Until next time, keep your eyes on Jesus.
