Treasures in Heaven

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Treasures in Heaven.

"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:"

We often hear about the importance of storing up treasures in heaven, but we can easily find ourselves wondering: how do we actually do that?

The answer is beautifully simple. We store up eternal treasure when we place our faith in Jesus Christ alone, follow Him alone, and choose to obey His living teachings in our ordinary, everyday lives. It is not about earning our way to heaven, but about living a life that is completely anchored in Him.

Practically, this heavenly investment starts the moment we open our eyes each morning.

Let’s encourage one another to start our days in direct prayer to Jesus. Instead of carrying our heavy burdens into the day, let's bring Him all of our problems, our daily conflicts, and our personal concerns. Let's use those quiet morning moments to search our hearts, confessing and asking for His forgiveness for any sins we might be harboring.

And then, let's open God's Word, the Bible. When we read Scripture, we aren't just scanning pages; we are listening to hear what Jesus has to say directly to our hearts. As we listen, let’s ask Him for the daily grace and strength we need to live for Him alone.

When you spend your day walking in His grace, trusting His guidance, and sharing His love, you are investing in what will last forever.
