More than a Conqueror

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: More than a Conqueror.

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
— Romans 8:37 (BSB)

A normal conqueror defeats an enemy and remains standing. But as followers of Jesus, we are "more than" conquerors. Why? Because the very trials meant to break our faith are the exact tools God uses to strengthen our walk, refine our character, and bring glory to Christ.

This victory isn't about our own personal toughness, positive thinking, or willpower. It is found entirely in our union with Christ. On the cross, Jesus conquered sin, death, and condemnation.

When we repent and place our faith in Him alone, a beautiful, divine exchange takes place. Our sins are placed entirely on Jesus, who bore their full penalty, and His perfect obedience is credited to us. Because of His sacrifice, God forgives our past and clothes us in Christ’s own righteousness. In God's eyes, we are seen as completely pure.

Being 'more than a conqueror' doesn't mean we escape trouble, pain, or hardship. It means that in the very middle of the storm, we are absolutely secure. As Paul reassures us just a few verses later, absolutely nothing in all creation can ever sever us from the unfailing love of God that is found in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let's walk in that victory today.

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
