Scripture Focus: “How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!” — Psalm 139:17 (NLT)
Take a deep breath and consider the sheer scale of the universe. We often feel like a tiny speck in an infinite expanse. Yet, the Psalmist David reveals a startling truth: the Creator of those galaxies is preoccupied with you.
God is not merely aware of your existence; He is actively thinking about you. His thoughts aren’t cold or judgmental; they are "precious." If you tried to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand on every shore. Imagine that—for every mistake you’ve made, for every moment you’ve felt alone, there are a billion "precious thoughts" from the Father directed toward your heart.
What does God think when He looks at you? Through the lens of His Word and the sacrifice of Jesus, we know His thoughts toward you are filled with forgiveness and restoration. He thinks of the cross of Jesus, where your sins were washed away; He isn't dwelling on your past but is focused on your restored relationship with Him.
He also thinks of your healing and deliverance. Whether it is physical pain, emotional trauma, or spiritual bondage, His thoughts are plans for your wholeness. Finally, His thoughts extend to eternal life. He has prepared a place for you, thinking of the day you will step into eternity in Jesus, where every tear is wiped away.
Today, when the "accuser" tries to tell you that you are forgotten, unloved, or too far gone, replace that lie with the truth of Psalm 139. Consider which of God’s precious thoughts—Forgiveness, Healing, or your Future—you need to lean into most today.
Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that I am never off Your mind. Thank You that Your thoughts toward me are good, full of peace, and rooted in the finished work of Jesus. I receive Your forgiveness and Your healing today. Help me to walk in the confidence of being deeply known and perfectly loved. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
