Christian - forgiven - grateful

Welcome! My name is Richard Templin Hancock and I am a senior citizen who has found great peace in his old age in the forgiveness that Jesus Christ offers to sinners. I enjoy reading my Bible and recording short Devotional podcasts with the aim to encourage us all to have faith in God and follow His Son Jesus Christ every day.
I hope the following blog posts will be an encouragement to you:

He Commands People Everywhere to Repent

Acts 17:30-31 In the past, God overlooked people’s ignorance. But now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

Do you ever hear a preacher preach about repentance? I was reading that repent means turning from our sin and turning to God. Jesus preached the Good News from village to village. And what did he say?

Mark 1:14-15 Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God,
and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”

Jesus denounced entire communities that did not repent: Matthew 11:20 Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

Jesus said in Mark 2:17 ...“Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

When the Apostles went out to preach, what did they say? Listen to what Mark 6:12 says: They went out and preached that people should repent.

Jesus sent his disciples out and said in Luke 24:47 ... that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Acts 2:38 tells us: Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Have you repented? If you preach the Good News do you preach repentance?
