The War
2 Timothy 2:4 KJVS
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Think about it: God has chosen us to be soldiers. There is a battle today. What do you think that battle involves? I'm thinking it includes being in battle against all the temptations the world will throw at us today. There are also the temptations of our sinful nature, always looking for an opportunity to make us live for our sinful desires and not in loving obedience to our Lord Jesus. The world's battlefield is huge, but our God is bigger. Our strength is weak, but God's strength is here for the asking. We may get weary in the battles, but Jesus empowers us as we look to Him in prayer. Sickness may drain us, but God will help and heal or give grace to endure. We may lose a battle, but we are assured that because of Jesus, we will win the war. Let's be encouraged as we walk through this day and night. We are not alone.
