Christian - forgiven - grateful

Welcome. My name is Richard Templin Hancock and I’m here to encourage you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. I'm glad you're here—let's walk this path together.

Our Heavenly Father Does All That He Pleases

Our Heavenly Father Does All That He Pleases

Psalm 135:6 (BSB)

"The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths."

What a wonderful reminder of the sovereignty of our Heavenly Father! He is the Creator and Ruler over all things. Nothing is beyond His authority, and no one can stand against Him.

In 2 Chronicles 20:6, we are reminded that power and might are in His hand and that He rules over all the kingdoms of the nations.

2 Chronicles 20:6

"And said, 'O LORD, God of our fathers, are You not the God who is in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand, and no one can stand against You.'"

Daniel 2:21 tells us that He changes the times and seasons, removes kings, and establishes them. Even the events of human history are not outside His sovereign authority.

Daniel 2:21

"He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning."

And consider the words of King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of the mighty Babylonian Empire, in Daniel 4:34, when he acknowledged that God's dominion is everlasting and His kingdom endures from generation to generation.

Daniel 4:34

"But at the end of those days I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity was restored to me. Then I praised the Most High, and I honored and glorified Him who lives forever: 'For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation.'"

Fellow follower of Jesus Christ, isn't it encouraging to know that the God we trust is sovereign over all things? When the world seems uncertain, political leaders change, and circumstances are beyond our control, our Heavenly Father remains on His throne.

Let this strengthen our faith and encourage us to keep our eyes on Jesus, trusting the Father who holds all things in His hands.
