This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: He Came for Sinners.
"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
— Luke 5:32 (KJV)
I was thinking this morning that Jesus did not come for those who think they have it all together, but for those of us who know we are sinners.
He came to preach the gospel to the poor. He came to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and to bring recovery of sight to the blind. Jesus came to set at liberty those who are bruised, announcing the beautiful truth of the Kingdom of God and inviting us to be a part of it.
When we realize that we are the ones who need Him, our hearts are opened to His grace.
Let's listen to what Jesus tells us in the Gospel of Luke:
"Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."
— Luke 15:10 (KJV)
Think about that amazing reality! If you have turned from your sin and placed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, heaven has celebrated your return. And the best part is that Jesus is with you this very second. His comforting presence will walk with you through every single day of your life on this earth, and in heaven, you will have the pure joy of being with Him face-to-face.
If you have not yet trusted in Jesus, you do not have to wait another moment or try to clean yourself up first. Simply call out to Him right now, exactly as you are.
Remember what the Bible promises:
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
— Romans 10:13 (KJV)
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus, thank You that You came for sinners like me. Thank You for healing my broken heart and setting me free from the power of sin. I call upon Your name today. Fill my life with Your presence, guide my steps daily, and let me walk in the joy of Your salvation. Amen.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
