This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: As Many as Received Him.
Let's listen to God's Word in the Gospel of John:"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:"
— John 1:12 (NKJV)
Think about those two words at the very beginning of this verse: "as many."
When Jesus came, He didn't establish a faith reserved only for one specific culture, one social class, or one corner of the map. He threw the doors of His kingdom wide open. Right now, at this very moment, the saving grace of Jesus is actively uniting a massive, beautiful family spanning across every continent on Earth.
Think about what "as many" looks like today.
Think of a fisherman tossing his nets into the warm waters of the Gulf of Oman, bowing his head over his boat to give quiet thanks to Jesus.
Think of a teenager navigating the busy, loud hallways of a high school in America, pausing at her locker to ask the Holy Spirit for the courage to stand firm in her faith.
Think of an accountant in a bustling office building in Beirut, Lebanon, typing away on her keyboard while resting in a deep, supernatural peace that no financial spreadsheet could ever provide.
We can look even further. Think of an elderly grandmother sitting on her porch in a quiet village in Kenya, singing a song of praise in her native tongue. Or a mechanic wiping grease from his hands in a busy garage in Brazil, whispering a prayer of trust for his daily bread.
On the surface, these lives look completely different. They speak different languages, face different struggles, and live in different time zones. But because they have received Jesus and believed in His name, they share the exact same high privilege: they are cherished children of the Living God. They are brothers and sisters, held securely in the very same sovereign hands.
No matter who you are, where you are listening from today, or what your background looks like—this promise is for you. You don't have to earn your way into this family. You simply receive Him, believe in Him, and let Him guide your steps.
Let's pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for throwing the doors of Your kingdom wide open to everyone who believes. Thank You for making us a part of Your beautiful, global family. No matter where we are working, living, or studying today, we rest in the security of being Your cherished children. Guide our steps and help us shine Your light to those around us. Amen.
