Revelation 21:1 (BSB):
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth,for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more."
God is not a God of patchwork fixes—He is the God of new creation. John does not describe a repaired world, but a completely new one. The old, corrupted by sin, is gone.
From Genesis to Revelation, this is God’s redemptive plan. Sin didn’t merely damage creation—it corrupted it entirely. So God doesn’t improve it; He replaces it. Scripture says if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). What God does in the believer now, He will one day do for the entire universe.
This shows us who God is: He makes all things new. And the only way to be part of that new creation is to be made new through faith in Jesus Christ, So the question is simple: have you been made new?
