"Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee."
The dictionary says that to remember is to have in or be able to bring to one's mind an awareness of (someone or something that one has seen, known, or experienced in the past).
This is a good opportunity for me to remember what Jesus has done for me, what He will do, and what He has taught me for daily living. How about you? Do you feel this way? It is good to remember.
Hebrews 2:1 reads: Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
And Peter wrote in 2 Peter 1:13: Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
Also in 2 Peter 3:1: This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
I invite you to remember what you have learned from Jesus. If you have not learned about the teachings of Jesus, I encourage you to start reading the Gospels in the New Testament. Actually, when one follows the teachings of Jesus, they kind of stand out. Why? Because the world is full of religious people who know not Christ.
Let us pray. God, thank You for sending Jesus to die for our sins and to teach us Your ways. Help us to stay on that Jesus highway of obedience as we wait for Your Son's return. Amen.
